I have a Bissell ProHeat 2x that I bought yesterday. I live in a brand new townhome, built in August. The minute I turn the steam cleaner on it trips the breaker for the entire room. There is NOTHING else plugged in, no lights turned on or anything in there. Do I have to return it or is there another way to keep the power from overloading the circuit?
No it’s not in a GFI outlet. I tried every outlet around the room(its the spare bedroom. Theres not even a tv in there) its empty. Every single time i switched the power on the cleaner the entire room loses power.
Thanks guys! I think its the cleaner. I had another Bissell in this house, it just wasn’t what I needed but I never had anything like this happen with that steam cleaner. I tried this new one in every room, all the breakers were tripped. Guess I’ll be going back to where I got it : / I am disappointed though, I’m a clean freak and was VERY excited to clean my carpets haha

Hello, I am in the market for a Bissell ProHeat 2X deep cleaning vacuum, but I read somewhere that deep cleaning vacuums only suck up the water/solution and that they do not pick up dog hair. I have a dog and the hair is what really needs to be vacuumed up, but I assumed that a deep cleaning vacuum would pick it up as well as "steam" the carpet. Does anyone know about this?

My cat had an allergic reaction to a stain remover I used on my carpet, so the vet recommended that I steam clean the carpet to get rid of the allergen. Debating on whether it would be more beneficial to rent a Rug Doctor or buy a steam cleaner like a Bissell Proheat? In your opinion which works better? I figure I could probably justify buying one if I use it at least 5 times (would equal the cost of rental or thereabouts). Also, how loud is the Rug Doctor vs. one you can buy. I live in an apartment complex, I don’t want to be too noisy!
Thanks

stolen our hearts but also the cleanliness of our carpeting. Granted a tiny dog, you say, could not possibly make this much damage ~ well, our whole entire carpeting looks like it has the measels !! From various online reviews, I have narrowed down my choices to:
(1) The Hoover Steam Vac Turbo Power Carpet Cleaner with Clean Surge feature. Model # F5912900 — PRICE 0
(2) Bissell Proheat 2x Clean Shot Carpet Cleaning System., Model # 9500 ~ PRICE 0
I am confused since each of the two models have about the same number of good and not-so-good reviews.
I LOOK FORWARD to hearing from people who actually own either machine. Any advice, bad or good, is welcome !

I have a Bissell ProHeat 2X steamcleaner (I own it) and would like to clean my carpets. However, I am out of the Bissell solution that I usually use, and my children are in bed, so I can not leave to go get more. I really would like to get some of my carpets done, as I am going out of town for the day tommorow and want to come home to a fresh, clean house. Are there any homemade solutions that anyone uses? I know I read online that vinegar and water or baking soda and water work well but I don’t have either of those. I just have a ton of cleaning products, laundry detergent, etc. Any ideas?

I need to deep clean my daughter’s closet. The carpet is medium length plush carpet. It’s not flat carpet but it’s not the real high stuff either. I have a Bissell Proheat 2x that I bought back in May. It uses heated water. How long should I wait before putting her toys and stuff back in the closet?

We borrowed a "steam cleaner" to clean the carpets in our house. The carpet isn’t horrendously dirty, but there are quite a few urine spots from our small dog (she has since become much better at house training, so some of these spots are at least a month old). The cleaner is a Bissell ProHeat Plus. What is the best cleaning solution to use with this cleaner with our carpet?
