I need help, soaking wet carpet, steam vac won't suck up water.?

Posted on June 1st, 2010 in Bissell Steam Cleaner | 3 Comments »

have a Bissell Pro Heat deep cleaning carpet cleaner. I also have pets, which means even after running a sweeper, there’s still a certain amount of dog hair in the carpet.

I was steam cleaning the carpet, and a clump of wet dog hair got sucked into the Pro Heat, and the motor sound got "muffled". I took off the clear window on the front and cleaned it, but could not find the glob of dog hair that is slowing it down.

Is there a way to clear the hose or whatever part that the dog hair clump is stuck?

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Steam Cleaning Carpets – Does it really work?

I have two pugs that have completely ruined a back bedroom carpet area, we did not realize til last week that the dogs had been "going" in that room, so we cleaned it with just regular spray carpet cleaner, but we are thinking of buying a carpet steamer. The stains we did get out, but I’m wondering if the steamer will get out the smell?? How hard are they to use also? Thank you!

I’ve got a Bissel quick steam carpet cleaner. When you use it, what’s the best way to make sure you get your carpets as clean as possible? Would you go slowly across the floor, or more quickly as though you’re scrubbing the dirt away?

Can a steam carpet cleaner replace a vacuum cleaner for general household cleaning?

We are considering buying a steam carpet cleaner instead of a vacuum, since we live in the country and our carpets get quite dirty? Does anyone know if this will work? I have read you should vacuum first and then steam clean. But we don’t want to buy both and we don’t have a lot of storage space. Thank you for any answers.
