Carbon monoxide and carpet cleaning?

Posted on September 5th, 2010 in Steam Cleaning | 1 Comment »

I had my carpet steam cleaned today. The smell of the cleaning product was quite strong. About an hour or so after the guy left, my carbon monoxide alarm sounded. No one has any symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning. I’ve vented the house and the alarm no longer sounds.

Does anyone know whether the carpet cleaning product could have caused a false alarm?

Anyone know of a really good reliable steam cleaner or carpet cleaner?

Posted on August 4th, 2010 in Steam Cleaning | 4 Comments »

I have three wonderful boys, but they can ruin a carpet fast. My husband and I would love to own a carpet cleaning device, but lots of the people we know have had bad luck.

Any suggestions?

What method of carpet cleaning can be done without damaging fine art paintings?

Posted on July 21st, 2010 in Steam Cleaning | 4 Comments »

I’m arranging carpet cleaning for a customer who has an extensive amount of fine art paintings in his home. Is there a certain method of carpet cleaning that is safe for use around artwork (I’m afraid that steam cleaning or chemicals may damage the artwork), or will we just have to move it all out before the carpets are cleaned?

Help Quick! Steam Cleaning Upholstery! Forgot to buy "anti foam", but have reg. carpet cleaning solution…ok?

Posted on July 14th, 2010 in Steam Cleaning | 2 Comments »

We rented a rug doctor steam cleaner to do the carpets and couches. There’s a little tag on the handle of the upholstery cleaning tool that says "Use anti-foam cleaner". Well, I didn’t see that tag in the store, of course! I have the carpet cleaning solution, it does not say that it is foaming….so is it ok? Is there some other household solution I should make and use? What should I do? It’s storming and I don’t want to run back to the store again!

Would You/How much would you pay to have your car steam cleaned?

Posted on June 27th, 2010 in Steam Cleaning | 2 Comments »

My Stepdad owns a carpet cleaning business, but doesnt like cleaning cars, he said i could do all i want and take almost all the cash for it, it can take anywhere from 45 mins-3 hours, just depending on many things, and it can go from looking trashy, to looking brand new when i do it with our steam cleaner. I was thinkin about advertising, would you pay to have it done? and, if you would, how much would you be willing to pay? it would have to be at least 80 bucks probably.

Where can I hire a Steam Cleaner in Sydney?

Posted on June 23rd, 2010 in Steam Cleaning | 2 Comments »

I am moving out of my rental place on Friday, and have emailed heaps of Carpet Cleaning companies to get quotes – but I also wanted to compare these to the cost of doing it myself. I’m not sure where to look to hire one though – I read Woolworths somewhere, but I’m not sure. Anything would be helpful, we have to do it this Friday and it’s a 6 room house! It doesnt even need a steam clean, it’s only lightly soiled at the most, but we are required to clean it, so I want to find the cheapest option!

Thanks =]

Does anyone know the name of the mult-surface steam vac that has been showing on infomercials?

Posted on June 14th, 2010 in Bissell Steam Cleaner | 2 Comments »

I saw this mult-surface steam vac that could be used on both tile and carpet. I thought the brand was bissell but have been unable to find it. I believe it had about 6 orange rotating heads on it. That show it cleaning some spilled red juice on white tile among other things.
Actually it’s a steam vac for carpet cleaning and tile cleaning it uses hot water and solution.

WHICH VACUUM ?? I am in the market to buy a carpet cleaner ~ thanks to a little 5 lb. Chihuahua that has?

Posted on June 6th, 2010 in Bissell Steam Cleaner | 2 Comments »

stolen our hearts but also the cleanliness of our carpeting. Granted a tiny dog, you say, could not possibly make this much damage ~ well, our whole entire carpeting looks like it has the measels !! From various online reviews, I have narrowed down my choices to:

(1) The Hoover Steam Vac Turbo Power Carpet Cleaner with Clean Surge feature. Model # F5912900 — PRICE 0

(2) Bissell Proheat 2x Clean Shot Carpet Cleaning System., Model # 9500 ~ PRICE 0

I am confused since each of the two models have about the same number of good and not-so-good reviews.

I LOOK FORWARD to hearing from people who actually own either machine. Any advice, bad or good, is welcome !

Are there any benefits of having your carpet dry cleaned versus having it shampooed or steam cleaned?

Posted on May 30th, 2010 in Bissell Steam Cleaner | 3 Comments »

I have berber carpet and a Bissell carpet shampooer. It seems to do a pretty good job, but I’m wondering how deep the water actually penetrates. Anyone have any experience with professionally dry cleaned carpet cleaning? Is it better for berber?
