What is the best steam/water cleaning vacuum?

Posted on July 16th, 2010 in Steam Cleaning | 3 Comments »

I have two cats and a dog that have made my off white carpeting rather unpleasant and have come to the conclusion that I need to purchase a steam/water cleaning vacuum to end the recurring trips to the store to rent the rug doctor. I am trying to decide the best one to purchase. I am willing to spend anything up to 0 because between the vomiting, hairballs and accidents, I will have use for it at least once a week if not more. What is most important is how well it cleans the carpet and reliability. Does anyone have a steam cleaner that they like? or suggestions for what to avoid? Thanks…

Professional Steam Cleaning Vs. Home Steam Vac?

Posted on July 10th, 2010 in Steam Cleaning | 3 Comments »

We recently brought home an adorable baby Savannah kitten from a breeder. The kitten brought Giardia into the home and infected our other two cats and dog. We’ve been through 2 cycles of medicating the animals plus constant sanitizing the home multiple times a day every day. It’s beginning to get ridiculous. I now plan to quarantine the cats in a bedroom and steam clean the home. My question is, is there a difference between using a Hoover steam vac and having a professional steam cleaning service come in? Does the hoover do the same thing?

Cleaning A Carpet Without Using A Steam Cleaner?

Posted on July 9th, 2010 in Steam Cleaning | 3 Comments »

I am 16 living with only my mother, two dogs, and two cats. As a second birthday gift I am cleaning the whole house since my mother does not want anything but seems to really appreciate me helping out around the house. Now, being very anal with cleaning, I am getting tired of not having a steam cleaner to aid me in cleaning the carpet in the computer room. The room seems to be hopeless because there is me (who sometimes has company), and the animals who practically live in that room only. I’ve discovered that if you continuously walk on the carpet your feet will eventually turn black. Not very inviting to know, but sadly it is true. I need to know if there are any other ways that I can get most of the animal fur and what ever inhabits the carpet out without using a steam cleaner. I have no way of transportation nor much money at the moment to go and buy a new steam cleaner (nor the brains to figure out which is the best to use). Is there anything I can use from household products to get out the miscellaneous crap?

Alternatives for steam vacuums solutions?

Posted on May 16th, 2010 in Bissell Steam Cleaner | 1 Comment »

I wonder if anybody knows if there are any type of house – made solution I could use in Bissell steam cleaning vacuum.
The stuff I usually get in store is so expensive and with 4 cats and 4 dogs it’s almost impossible to afford it for every week cleaning…
Thanks!
