Automobile Carpet cleaning?

Posted on September 4th, 2010 in Bissell Steam Cleaner | 2 Comments »

Has anyone ever tried to use their home carpet cleaner (Ex. Bissell) to clean their automobile upholstery(carpeting)? If so ,how did you go about doing this since these steam cleaners are so bulky? I know this is a crazy question but I’m trying to avoid shelling out 60 bucks for a professional job if I can do it myself.

I’m already looking to buy a steam cleaner for my floor and have seen some that have upholstery attachments. Does that mean I can use it to clean my microfiber couches?

I am looking for a versatile steam cleaner that can do floors as well as detail kitchen and bathroom cleaning.?

I have looked at several steam cleaners. I need one that will do a great job on tile, hardwood and carpet. The Haan supposedly leaves the carpet dry, and I like that very much. It also has an optional short handle that allows you to clean upholstery and bedding—something that I need for a child who has asthma. But it doesn’t seem to do the detail bathroom and kitchen cleaning that I am also looking for.

A friend who has one of the Monsters swears by its ability to clean the kitchen. She even steam cleans the inside of her oven with it. I need a product that does both detail cleaning and floors.

Does anyone have any success stories? I am a single, working mom. The cleaner needs to be affordable and easy to use.

Recommendations on upholstery cleaners?

I am looking for a steam cleaner (or something similar) to use on my upholstery. I don’t have carpet so I have no need for a carpet cleaner with upholstery attachments. I have looked at several types like the Bissell Little Green Proheat but I have read mixed reviews. Can anyone suggest another cleaner that would work well? I would like it to cost less than 5.

eco friendly upholstery steam cleaning help?

I am super thrifty and have just bought all of my furniture for our new house as second hand. I also have a baby on the way any day now and would like to clean the upholstery-either professionally or myself. I can rent a steam cleaner from the store BUT am wondering if there is another compound to use besides the stuff that is typically used sold alongside the rental steamers…it needs to be non-toxic. Any idea? I am in the LA area. Thanks!

i have been to a vacuum shop and mr caldwell says there are really no quality upright cleaners in his mind out there. once they establish themselves they go plastic on everything to watch costs. are there any out there of good or great quality that have small attachments for upholstery cleaning especially? thanks for your input
